Technology, Media, Telecoms and IT

Procorre Consultants work assisting communication and technology providers to develop new technologies and expand into new markets, across a broad range of cutting-edge industries.

Of all sectors, IT is one of the most subject to rapid change. This applies not only to the technologies employed but also to the locations where cutting-edge work is being carried out. It means that IT professionals have a vast range of choices when considering the country where they would most like to work.

As an example, Finland is leading the way as an economy most likely to benefit from information and communication technologies. It faces fierce competition from Sweden and Singapore. Other Asian ‘tigers’ are also prominent players – Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong.

Some of the biggest hirers include firms such as Accenture, Capgemini, Cisco, Infosys, Logica and Tata Consultancy. However, many IT professionals also find roles outside of the IT industry itself in financial services, retail and telecoms firms and in the public sector.

In terms of technology, mobile applications are increasingly important for consumer-facing businesses, and database management systems are becoming ever more important for enterprises. IT and computing roles are seeing some of the strongest growth of any sector.

Europe also remains a destination of choice for IT consultants. The UK economy is strong, with one prediction by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) even suggesting that the UK economy will overtake Germany by 2028. France, Switzerland and Germany are all rich sources of new contracts, and multiple contract renewals are common, indicating strong demand for skilled consultants.

Not forgetting that the buoyant cyber security market is expected to continue growing globally from $75 billion in 2015 to $170 billion by 2020, further boosted by the £1.9 billion National Cyber Security Strategy recently announced in the UK. With heavy investment in global cyber security markets, this is expected to create many more opportunities for both clients and consultants around the world.
