NEXT10 INITIATIVE

Continuing our mission to champion contractors and provide a supportive voice for the industry, Procorre is launching Next10. Our new initiative will look at future markets, trends and the changing regulatory landscape & how it will impact contractors over the next 10 years. Next10 will also track new industry developments, including globalisation, and how future workforces will bring about their vision of tomorrow.

Across our core areas of specialism, including cyber security, renewable energy and medical devices, over the coming months we’ll be collating a bank of industry insights, resources and research materials. Next10 will also continue to build on the success of the Procorre100 campaign. We’ll continue to celebrate the work of female contractors and encourage more women to explore a career in consulting.

Be sure to take a look at the different segments below for more insight into Next10 and what we think will be shaping the working world during the next decade.

NEXT10 – FUTURE MARKETS

Whether it’s pioneering new advances in medical devices, pen testing a multinational’s cyber defences, or managing major projects within renewable energy, Procorre consultants are leaders in their chosen   fields.

Here, we’ll bring you all the latest insights on the industries helping to shape our future and the technologies being harnessed by Procorre contractors to help businesses globally stay ahead of the game.

Matt O’Donnell, Head of Partner Development at Procorre, introduces the Future Markets segment of the Next10 initiative.

NEXT10 – REGULATORY

With changes to IR35 regulations impacting the private sector due to come in to effect on 6 April 2020, it’s never been more important for consultants to ensure they clear all the necessary compliance checks to maintain their independent contractor status.

Helping businesses and consultants alike to successfully negotiate the regulatory landscape is one of Procorre’s areas of specialism.

From thought leadership and opinion on IR35 and other key regulatory issues that will impact the industry in the coming months, Next10’s Regulatory section will keep you updated on what you need to know.

NEXT10 – TRENDS

As part of Next10, over the coming months we’ll be looking at some of the key trends associated with future employment and the global workforce.

We’ll be providing our perspective as well as hearing from some of the industry-leading consultants that work with Procorre. In addition, Next10 will build on the Procorre100 campaign, profiling women working in consulting and their opinions.

With a workforce that’s becoming increasingly distributed, businesses all over the world are revaluating their policies on recruiting the best skills and talent.  Many workers are also now seeking roles within organisations that provide meaningful employment over businesses only able to offer more traditional career prospects.

Providing regular insight on the trends shaping the global workforce, Mark Baggs introduces our Next10 Trends section.

PREPARING FOR APRIL 2020 OFF-PAYROLL REGULATORY CHANGES

Intermediaries Legislation (IR35) was first implemented in 2000 to regulate those providing services via a limited company. Where originally, contractors themselves were responsible for determining their IR35 status, this obligation was then handed to the engager of each contractor, i.e. the client, in new ‘off-payroll’ rules enforced in April 2017 for those working for public sector organisations. These regulations will be extended to private sector businesses from April 2020, impacting an estimated 900,000 UK-based limited company contractors.

Although the responsibility now lies with the client business, both parties need to be ready for the changes to avoid losing access to valuable skills and client projects respectively. With the deadline fast approaching, Procorre surveyed over 500 contractors and 500 UK HR professionals to examine the current state of play.
