Anne O’Donnell talks about how IR35 could affect IT contractors in a guest article published on Information Age

Last month, Procorre CEO Anne O’Donnell was asked to contribute a bylined article for leading IT trade publication Information Age talking about how forthcoming changes to IR35 legislation could affect UK IT contractors.

With the IR35 deadline now less than six months away, the piece examines why some larger organisations are now opting not to extend the projects of IT contractors who provide their services via a personal service or limited company, beyond February. Many IT contractors are now faced with the ultimatum of either becoming PAYE or having to seek projects elsewhere.

Anne’s article, entitled Why some companies are losing it over IR35, references research conducted by Procorre and Censuswide, which surveyed 500 contractors and 500 UK HR managers, to gain an understanding into how the respective parties are coping ahead of the April deadline.

With the research revealing many contractors are not as compliant as they think they are, and that the majority of HR professionals are feeling the strain as they try to ready themselves for the IR35 legislative changes next year, Anne offers her thoughts on the subject here.
